To all the sceptics saying they’ll never finish with the stadiums on time, the engineers and people doing the actual work on the Greenpoint stadium in Cape Town, are working very long hours (at least that’s what a couple of post-grad engineers working on the project told me) and by the look of it, they might actually finish on time.

Weird. Last time i was there they were far away from where they are now.
Looks more complete from the inside than when driving past it. That things is massive. Imagine how it would look with the lights on at night. Groovy.
This is the first time I saw the stadium since January 2008, still took a picture standing on top of Table Mountain (obviously with lots of zooming) and it was far from completion, definitely a lot of progress since last year!
hey ihr müst ins stadion von ausn kans gut aussehen aber es felt überall noch der vein schlif ich zweifle (war am drukring beteidigt)
I wish I understood German :(
heyRe@PeR ay ken sei you det in inglish its a shit inglich meiby you anderstend samting. you mast gou in de steidium from autseit you see det de steidium gous finish or inseid hef de workers a lot of work du do elektrishen end a lot of smol works det nid a lot of taim (i wosnt by de kompreshenruing)
That I understand perfectly, I think, in other words, if I understand you correctly, even if it looks like they’re making progress, it’s still going to be a tight squeeze to get the stadium finish on time? I wonder how long it will take them to finish the inside once the structure itself is finished …
Hey what happened to you? Are you on holiday :)
Hi Evl, a company bought me out making me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
Basically doing VoIP and cluster development for Cisco’s unified communications branch aka VOSS while still doing experiments for Brain Synergy, my own research on alternative energy, work on a new concept (that I’m not going to say anything about until it’s patented), there are some other small freelance projects I’m working on and weekends are non-existent as I’m always somewhere either hiking, or doing some sort of extreme sport.
Was just thinking on my way home that I should probably squeeze in some time for blogging and reading blogs again! Have a fantastic weekend and drive safe if you’re going somewhere!
I’m sure they will finish it on time! I’ve lived in CPT for a year and I know a little of SA and what I’ve heard today of one brazilian’s most watched TV Channels is that all the stadiums are ready to the World Cup!
Congrats!!!
I’ll be back there next year!!!
Wow, that’s great news, thanks for the update Samuel!
Now let’s just hope they can get the transport infrastructure finished in time, Cape Town is already a nightmare regarding traffic, doesn’t matter which time of the day you drive in or out.
